I encountered this beautiful guy this morning. As I look in my Peterson's app, the closest I can come is that it is a juvenile night heron. If not, what might it be if not quite beautiful!

Thanks Gregory, as long as I am trying to get some bird ID, what kind of bird is this that I shot on the beach this morning having an apparent argument with a black skimmer?

Great shot pedalmasher, that's a juvenile skimmer, most likely looking to be fed

This is a juvenile Black-crowned Night Heron -- quite common in the Everglades National Park along the Anhinga trail. Nice capture.
