I remember a fad that was going around a few years ago called the "orten effect" how many of you still use it? as it always gets critic that it is out of focus.

I use the Orton effect occasionally to give a soft glow to the highlights. Soft focusing is fine as detail should still be preserved. Why not attach one of your 'Ortonified' images?

I tried it on a few shots awhile back. The in-camera "soft focus" option was used on this shot...portraiture and still life it works...but other than that I don't see much use of it.

I'm at work so I don't have much to choose from.

I read about it a while ago and tried some. I should give it a try again.

Wouldn't it have been nice if the header had told what you asked about? That way many of us could have skipped the topic!

I have used it but not often. It's something that in my opinion is only effective in certain scenes/photos. It's an available option in Photoshop Elements 10.
