I just hope the guy doesn't make a sudden move when the dog jumps and bites off a hand by mistake. I would at least wear gloves too.

When the dog was biting his sleeve, he was saying to the Sheriff that he could feel the teeth of the dog through the sleeve.

When they have a good handler and they are utilized correctly, Police K-9 can be one of the best assets a police department can have....Unfortunately they aren't always handled efficiently. In fact I know of one instance where an officer lost his life because he searched a building without his K-9 partner due to constraints placed by police administration limiting their use, except under certain circumstances. And the heck of it was, the officer knew he was searching for an armed suspect from a prior police shooting, that had stolen that officer's weapon. Rules of engagement should be determined by the people doing the engagements...not some politician or office bound desk jockey who is not the one under fire.
