For those that don't believe. Taken with the 2X tele-converter, hand held, ISO-200, TV- 1/160, F-5.6.

These shots are better than full moon shots as you have the sun casting a shadow as it throws light across the craters. But when you say, great camera what camera did he/she use. All I can see is he used a 2x teleconverter. Maybe I am up too early.

Very nice work. If you SX50 users keep posting all these fantastic photos taken with them I may have to air out my wallet and spend some of the moldy cash it contains.

Might be too early for you, alright. The camera is described in the title--'SX50 Moon Shot'. :D

The 2X TC is 'in camera' (built in). The 35mm equiv. of this shot is 2400mm. The shot was hand held & the picture is sharp. Therefore, I stand on my comment that it is a great camera. :D

It says what he used in the header SX50 (Canon). Finish your coffee then come to my office around noon. LOL

2X on the 1200 mm or 200X

You need to send that mouldy cash to a money laundering service.

I'm quite sure my missus will find a way to clean it up, especially if I offer her a cut.

??

Using the built in TC at 2x, and fully extended equals 100x or 2400mm equiv.
To get to the 200x you would need to refer to a 4x TC.

hi, you spoke of a 2X built in TC. I have the SX50 and I can't find this mentioned in the handbook. What is it called there ?

It is part of the Digital Zoom feature. On the menu, go to digital zoom and you will find the options for "standard, 1.5x, 2x & off"

The 1.5x and 2x are effective from the wide end to the full optical zoom end. Using the 2x gives a 48mm-2400mm range, with a lot closer focusing for the resulting image size.

EDIT-UPDATE: Page 132 of the full manual.
