Cricket and I will be co-hosting for the next three days, and boy do we have some fun for you..
What do you do with those images you create that you are really satisfied with and would like to share???
I love to surprise people with a handwritten message on a postcard, or greeting card that I have created.. They can be as simple, or extravagant as you choose to make them...
They can be a simple picture....you can add some text.....or you can go all out with words, and layers and more.....
I have made several and had them printed by a company called Pixoto.... and then Rivernan told me about moo.com.. I had postcards printed by them and they were fabulous....
So lets see what you got......and tell us what you did to make it.
This is an image of a lake around the corner from my house. All I did was add text
Again, an image of a bug, and I added text
This one is a layering of 2 different pictures and I added text. I had the bee, but didnt like the flower he was flying by, so I layered a prettier flower in

In this series, I took pictures and layered with the sunflower pictures, a couple of different texture layers each and text......

Very nice cards indeed. A wonderful idea too. Question: You have someone make the cards for you. Is that because they use special paper, for glossy pictures ? I know there is "Card Stock" available to make cards, and I know the quality of the paper is not what one would use for pictures. So, I would presume that photo paper couldn't be used either ?

I have printed cards from my printer and find that I don't get the quality I want unless I have them professionally printed... The paper quality is better, the color is better.. I am usually happy with the results from the professional printer. When I print them myself they are just "okay"
Ok, you've snagged me. :) Sounds like this will be a fun and interesting thread. I took this shot while on vacation back in May. It was getting late in the day and the lighting was just faboulous. Folks that I've shown it to have all said it looked like a post card. Perhaps it does, maybe it doesn't...but a nice shot anyway. This photo is currently entered in the Tennessee State Fair's Creative Arts Photo contest coming in September. Sorry for posting early, I just noticed the Challenge is for Saturday thru Monday. Enjoy friends !!!
