I wonder, is PSE 12 about to come to the market?

A new version of PSE seems to come out in the fall and Costco has the best price.

Adobe dribbles out changes in PSE yearly to milk the public. Historically I would wait three years and wow the upgrade was a jump and worth the money. However, I made the big leap by going to Paintshop Pro X5 which is often compared to PS CS 5.5

X5 is a very powerful program. Go to UHH search and check out Paintshop Pro ultimate. BUT since you have PSE 11, why not stay with it and look into Topazlabs.com adjunct programs that work with your existing PSE (which has powers you have not yet tapped) as a base. Right now Topaz Restyle is at an intro price of $30. This program attaches automatically to PSE (and many other photo editing programs.

The Restyle program is best described by watching an Archived Webinar under Topazlabs.com Resources. The program displays a wide range of variations of your photo and then allow the adjustment of the 5 major colors in the photo. You can mask within the program so if you want for example to change intensity of blue but not in the sky you can simply mask the sky (edge aware) and change the other part of the photo. Get a 30 day and play with it. I think the intro price lasts til the end of the month.

The usual retort by PS and PSE users is that you can do all of these Topaz things in PS, the reply is yes, but in 2 hours, not 5 minutes.

The following review speaks highly of PSP:

Ephotozine gives a rundown on the Topaz Bundle with the exception of the two latest sub programs. Google "Topaz review software"

Good luck and by all means... spend your $$ wisely

I was using Elements 5 (don't laugh) until I recently upgraded my camera which required a well overdue upgrade of my old computer. I upgraded to PSE11 to complete the package. For what it's worth.... my thoughts on for those who may be considering upgrading to PSE11.

I would recommend it, though perhaps not from more recent versions, but certainly from the earlier versions. I for one won't leave upgrades so long again, as the changes were significant and left me struggling initially.... my old brain would've welcomed a more gradual leaning curve. At $59-60 I wouldn't hesitate given I paid about double that here in Australia. Thanks for the interesting info speters.
