John, try a sample pack of RedRiver paper. You get about 40sheets, two of about twenty different kinds, or maybe it's 30. They sell all sizes. The sample is 8.5x11. I think it's about $20. Check it out. SS
Edit, B&H sells lots of papers, I buy Canon rolls from them.
If you know what kind of paper you want you can probably find someone on eBay selling it cheap. That's what I do. I get deals on Epson photo paper, ink, etc. all on eBay.

They will make the profile and email it to you. I use Canon , Ilford and Epson papers and often buy from Red River. For my needs they are excellent . One can buy them anyplace. On line is the best way for me .
