This is my first photo with my new Telephoto Canon EFS 55-250mm, and I believe I will like it.

I did crop it and tweak it a little with Picaca3. I'm looking forward to getting a good full moon low on the horizon at night. I just wanted to see how well it would come out after editting.

A good moon shot can be added to other pictures for a nice composit. It's still your picture if both were done by you.

OK Wait a minute, I shoot with a Canon 55-250mm on a T2i and my moon looks like a pinky nail hanging in the sky. How did you get craters? What settings? This is an amazing shot!

I think it was about 5:00 or 5:30 or there abouts. I did darken the sky with Picasa3.

This was the first time I have used the 55-250 (I just got it today) but it was set at Av F6.3, Tv 1/1000, ISO 100. This is the original before cropping.

Aha! Now I see!!! I've been trying to find a 1.4 teleconverter compatible with my 55-250mm lens and haven't had any luck - I want to bring that moon (and other wild things) closer without having to crop so much.

I took this one with my hand held point and shoot. I like the craters in profile.

Full Moon with craters untouched
