The Lower New River season is still rolling and many people are waiting for the fall return of the world famous Gauley River season that draws in whitewater rafters and kayakers from around the globe.

Special Info for Gauley River:

Gauley Fest is scheduled for Sep 21st, 22nd, and 23rd. On these days, an extra hour of release will be provided.
In order to draw Summersville Lake down to 1520 feet by early November for a gate inspection, additional releases will be made durng the mid-week of the last two weeks of September and the first week of October. It is expected that flows of 2800 cfs will be released on September 17, 24, and October 1 and that flows of approximately 5000 cfs will be released on 18, 19, 25, 26, and October 2, 3.
