Got my clocks back from dusting, cleaning, oiling and polishing. Gone two weeks with the expert.

Looks like you have all the time on your hands that you need...sorry, poor attempt at a bad joke. ;-) Beautiful clocks, however...nice collection.

Thanks for all the nice comments on the clocks. I had one 'coo coo' from Germany when I was there in the 60s. Can't remember what relative talked me out of it.
BUT - The two in the bedroom woke me up at 4am this morning with a stereo crescendo of 'Westminster Abbey on the hour' so I don't think I'll wind them next week unless I get used to it. Maybe relegate them to another room, maybe the spare bedroom where the inlaws stay on their frequent visits from Key West.

Very nice clocks. Do you remember the advertisements on the back of "Popular Mechanics" in the sixties to build your own grandfather clock? The solid walnut case was $99.00 and the movement was $99.00. I sent for the kit from Emperor clock Co. in Fairhope Alabama. I still have it today.

What??? You still have the "kit" today? Why haven't you built it yet!!!!!quote=GH2man]Very nice clocks. No, I did build it. It stopped working a few years ago and it cost me as much to fix it as the original cost of the clock.

Beautiful clock. I also remember the 'tea cup Chihuahua' and the 'miniature spider monkeys' advertised. OH ya, almost forgot the small front loader to be built with your garden tractor. Great time of life.
