The male Wood Duck could be one of the most colorful North American Ducks.

Keep shooting them, their color is supposed to peak in the Fall when they partner up with a female who they will mate with in the Spring.

I enjoy seeing all wood Duck pictures.

Gary, see my sticky post about getting low and changing your perspective. I understand that that is not always possible but it would help this overhead shot. Otherwise, well done, sharp and colorful.

Birdpix, I know what you mean, it is the thing I like least of this picture. The railing made it impossible to get low, one of the many things about shooting in a zoo type setting. Thanks for your comments. Gary
