The words are:

This is why I want a full frame digital single lens reflex camera with a wide angle lens.

LOL! seriously, though, while a FF camera with a wide-angle lens can give you some marvelous images, an ultra-wide lens like a 10-22mm on a crop body camera can give you much the same result, and it'll cost a lot less. but if you're really jonesin' for a FF body, look at the used market. a Canon 5D (original version) can be had for under a grand, and will give you absolutely marvelous images. a great many of the landscape photos i've posted here were shot with a 5D, and although it's a generation back, and the design itself is 6 years old, it's still regarded as one of the best DSLRs out there for image quality.

True, but the problem here became the lack of height, Yes I could turn the camera 90 degrees but the line of the clouds begs it to be in landscape format. In my opnion aka two cents.

what camera was it taken with? did you consider turning the camera to shoot vertically, and shooting a "panoramic" style by taking 2 or 3 shots and stitching them together to make one image?

Yes I did and I'm going to try to see what a panoramic looks like with 3 verticles that I took tonight. Nikon d3100 AF-S 18-55 mm 3.5-5.6G lens.

the Nikons have a 1.5x crop factor (wish Canon did, it'd make the math so much easier!), so your 18mm is equivalent to 27mm on a FF body... i'm sure there are a number of lenses or Nikons in the 12-24 range that would give you about the same FOV as an 18mm on a FF body... maybe Santa will be good to you this year? ;)

quote=saside quote=SQUIRL033 the Nikons have a 1... (show quote)

Squirlo33! You don't need no stinking 5D MK II. Your photos at your website are awesome as they are with your present camera!
