I am looking to buy an adapter that will let me use fd lenses on my 7D. I am hoping someone can tell me about a really good one. I have looked at the Edmika's but it sounds as if you need to buy several and I just want one good adapter that I can put on and use with several different FD lens. I have searched but haven't found any real recommendations. Any and all help will be appreciated. Mike

One reason for Nikons- F mount then, F mount then, F mount! My first good camera was in 1972, a Nikkormat FT2, those F mount lenses would fit today's DSLRs.

That's the one thing I like about my Nikon D40: I can attach nearly any F mount lens from the late 1950's to today, and it will fit. Exposure and focusing may need to be done manually with older lenses, but the lens certainly can be used.

There are two types with AF Confirmed and without.
Then there are with lens and without lens.

Bought mine at Adorama for about $40.00. Use it with a Canon 50mm 1.4 that I bought for $28.00 (new) at a thrift store.

Oh my! A Nikon user that only like ONE thing about his camera! Better switch to another brand so you can like more about your camera!! LOL
PS: NO nasty responses please, it was a joke.

This is the only, Canon FD lens adapter to EOS mount, Adorama carries.

There is no inexpensive viable way to do what you want and maintain IQ and infinity focus. Your best hope would be to find a relatively inexpensive adapter with glass that does not degrade too much !

Somewhere I saw an adapter that did what I want. It wasn't terribly expensive. I appreciate all of your responses. I'll keep searching and IF I find it I'll let you know. Thanks again.

Are you looking for something less expensive than the Vello adapter I referenced in my earlier post?

Coach, what lenses are you trying to adapt? Do you already have them? I would only adapt lenses that are special, like some of the old L lenses. SS
