Today's Photos with Suggested Settings

Went to a place called the Joe Overstreet boat ramp today to get photos of a Snail Kite. Used the suggested ISO-800, f8 and aperture priority setting. Kept it on that all day as I did not want to have to switch things if/when the bird was in flight. No real flight shots, but a few take offs and landings. I know this is a BIF forum, but did post one of the bird perched just to show the settings worked well for that, too. Thanks for the help!

Nice job! Now just work on framing them a little better so as not to cut off wingtips and you'll have it!

Thank you, Birdpix! Yeah, I was bummed that the tips were not in the frame of that one. Actually, looking back at them, I realize that is the case on more than one! Something else to work on!

Georgia - wonderful shots! I arrive in Florida next Wednesday (Melbourne) for a long weekend & can't wait!! I'll be in the Orlando area from saturday thru wed. Want to check out as many areas as I can....Merritt Island, Circle Bar B, etc.

Fantastic shots. You certainly captured the take-off brilliantly. Hey Georgia, don't worry if you miss the wing tips slightly.... just crop the image really tightly and no-one will ever be the wiser!!! Honestly....try it.
