I apologize in advance for the quality of this phone picture....taken in my current room at a downtown Washington DC hotel. I think this is plenty of proof that anyone here could easily sell their photos. Someone made $ on this.

But it was hanging in the bathroom. :-)

Maybe because I'm in Washington, they thought it was great art....kinda like paying $$$$ for a wrench that you could buy at Walmart for $2.50

actually, i think that photo looks preety cool!!! its right up my alley. abstract with interesting lines, texture and detail. Not every photograph has to be a realistic and accuratte portrayl of reality. Afterall when youve seen one photo of a bee in a flower or a sunset, you've seen them all.

Sinatraman, I'm ok with the abstract lines, etc....but I guess my photo doesn't show that its blurry.....and not in an artistic way. :-)

This convo made me think of a story I was told. Russian astronaut said. "I don't understand Americians, they sped tens of thousands of dollars to make a pen write in zero gravity. Why not just use a paencil?

Not the greatest shot, I'll admit. But personally I wish I had one of my photographs in every Hilton bathroom in the country. Remember, no matter where they hang it, they paid for it first.

please inform me what an "accurate portrayal of reality" looks like?

and as for the second line the thinking reminds me of George Bush saying: "if you've seen one tree you've seen them all." Do you really believe that?

Pictures are never like reality, which is rarely small and flat.

what I meant by accurate portrayl of reality would be a nice shot of the waterfall with the motion of the water stopped. nothing enhanced just a moomment out of time. Many photographers like and use that style. That is good, but for me a little boring. I prefer more abstract shots. personel preferance only. we need photography as a science and photography as an art form people. Back in sept and oct, it seemed every other post on the hog was either bees in fill in the blank flower, or sunsets. They were for the most part very well done but after about 50 of em they all start to look the same. I was hoping to see someone post a photo of a dead bee in adead flower as an artistic statement. not meaning to offend anyy bee/flower photo lovers, just to me its a cliche type shot.
