New to this forum, but have been thoroughly enjoying and appreciating the posts and images for a few weeks now. Just saw some images of bees, and it reminded me of some shots I took while at Lake Superior last month. I was mostly trying to get my kids to cooperate, and during one of the many lapses in that sometimes futile endeavor I snapped this little bee. Your thoughts are welcome, but be gentle, remember I'm a newbie! ;)
Busy bumblebee
Same shot, cropped differently
Oldest daughter, who cooperated the most :)
Thanks for sharing. You have a lot of company here in regard to your love of flowers, bees and kids. #1 one crop is the nicer - the other has too much frame devoted to other then the subject. Some may mention the "rule of thirds" so to get your subject out of center. It is not really a rule - but a guidline you may want to know. #3 - nice model - looks just like you. Okay I have no idea; just something people often say.
Very nice macro work. Next time, try to get the bee hovering, the anticipation of the feed will give your shot more energy and interest. The girl is very pretty, and you've captured a nice smile, and a tender moment, she is a touch overexposed and we are losing some detail, but overall, really nice.
