What settings are the best for just before dawn meteor showers. They are occurring now that it is August.

Perseids will be hot - Aug 12 and 13th.

Exposure 30 seconds if choosing a F/2.8 to F/5.6 and ISO (native) 100 or 200.

If you want a longer exposure - 3 hours - change Aperture to F/22

Good luck and I have attached Russell Browns guild for night photography

Thank you for that download. Explains many questions.
I do have one and hope that it doesn't sound too stupid; he refers to LENR. What does that stand for?
Thanks in advance for your answer.

It is far from a stupid question - some DLSR's have a noise reduction feature. I do not use this with the FULL FRAME cameras as it is just not needed - plus it does add time to implement. For example - if you take a 20 sec exposure - with NR turned on....it will take another 20 seconds to process.....the fastest shot to shot time would therefore be 40 seconds.

I meant to add this site

http://www.russellbrown.com/scripts.html

Russell has written a script that (when used with Photoshop) will stack your images for you - time saver for sure.

In fact - he has a number of scripts on this site that are free to use!

Be sure to check out his podcast - if you are a PS user.
