At Lamplugh Glacier - Glacier Bay National Park & Preserve, Alaska
How would you like to fall out of that into that nice cold water?

Amazing! This IS a very beautiful part of Alaska! Fellow is brave as when the glacier calves there is a huge wave!
Cool shots...awww, did I just say that? ;-)

Neat shots. My cruise ship went into the Tracy Arm Fjord near Sawyer Glacier. Got a neat shot that's hanging on my wall...didn't do well at my photography club bi-weekly contest though. It was incredible to see how blue some of the ice was...the naturalist said it was due to the snow being so compacted all the air was squeezed out (it takes 100 ft of snow to make a foot of glacier). If I had an extra couple hundred $ or so to spend, an optional excursion was to board a tiny (20 passengers?) boat and go right up to the glacier. The people that went on it said they saw a big calving happen...wish I were there!
Most of the front of this glacier, unlike the Sawyer Glaciers, is now on land. It's no longer a true tidewater glacier across its entire front. Where he is, there wouldn't have been much danger.
