Carefully crafted cars are common in Lake Havasu City, AZ. It is impossible to control the background at car shows so I tried getting rid of it. Printed and framed at 13" x 19" is nice to look at. I hope it looks OK on your computer screen.

What a great idea. Concentrates the focus but in reflections there is still the lingering excitement of the show! Nice job.

I love the look, but why did you delete the tires and wheels?

Part of the Havasu hot rod culture seems to be picking a paint color nobody else has used. Getting the color to "pop" on a print so it registers in the brain like it did on the street was fun.

Would I be right in saying #1... 4 different shots stitched together for the reflections??

It tried that first. It didn't seem to work. The photos are pictures of an art form that comes from a body shop and paint room. Each is unique. The wheels and tires are manufactured. It seems that eliminating everything that is not the hand made art worked a little better.

It is a single shot. The reflections are real. That is part of the fun shooting.

Shooting is not in the best conditions for typical photography. Car shows are mid-day in bright sun. The cars are side by side and close. Lots of people cluster around the good ones. So, a "normal" photo is awful. It is full of "junk".

What I envisioned was your original concept, but with the wheels showing. Isolate the wheels and tires, lighten their opacity 30 to 40% then they'd show up as a contrast against your black background.

Wow! And those side shots show how much the wheels chosen can complete the overall appeal and feeling of completion of the total concept of those bodies and the work!!

You may be right. Car guys might want to see the wheels. Others, like my wife who drives a Ford Edge, reacts more strongly to the lack of wheels in the "art" photos.

Thanks all for viewing and commenting. I had fun this morning "displaying" my art work.
