My neighbor received an email of photos from her niece. She would like to put them in Picasa to edit them but can't figure out how. Could someone who uses Picasa assist? Will be happy to pass the info on. Thanks

I used to use Picasa a long time ago but I think if she downloads the pictures to her computer she can then use Picasa to edit. She has to save them on her computer first. Then open Picasa and it should automatically upload. If not, then she needs to change her settings in Picasa preferences. Again, it was a while ago since I've used this program so I hope this helps! Good luck.

Usually just saving into the default "Pictures" or "MyPictures" folder automatically makes them available in Picasa.

Install Google's Picasa
Download the images to the computer
Run Picasa
- Picasa will automatically find them (unless you have changed the default settings in Tools > Folder Manager)
Select the Folder and Files you want to edit on the left
Double-click to Edit them in Picasa
Save or Email as you desire
Enjoy!

Open Picasa and near the top on the left is a drop down menu entitled 'Import Photos'. Select the source i.e. camera or whatever. At the bottom on the right is another icon that says 'import all' and just wait.

Thanks much, I will pass that on. They think I should know all these programs because I shoot professionally.

You are very knowledgable and helpful. I wonder if you can tell me the best way to convert RAW files to TIFF. I have several thousand in Picasa. I have a Mac Book Pro. Is there a way to batch convert from RAW to TIFF?

While Google's Picasa reads TIFF files it Exports to JPGs
File types supported http://support.google.com/picasa/answer/19496?hl=en
Selecting displayed file types http://support.google.com/picasa/answer/11304?hl=en

Options would be to use a JPG to TIFF Conversion program or use another program like Digital Photo Professional for Canon to batch convert to TIFFs.

Thanks very much. Based on what the other UHH members have told me I won't have to convert the file until I want to send it out. That will same me a lot of work.
