Over the past two years since I retired and began to photograph wildlife, I have met several very nice couples that have agreed to pose for me so I could practice taking pictures.

This reminds me of the credits at the end of a movie, showing the names of the stars of the picture!

Without these couples and others, I would have to shoot landscapes.

That last one is sweet! They are engaging in "allopreening" That is preening another individual. Some think that it helps maintain the pair bond but there is little evidence for that. The newest thinking is that it is done for hygienic purposes since it seems to be done on those parts of the bird that they can't reach themselves. The back of the head and the neck. Getting rid of your partner's ticks, lice and dirt etc gives you and your offsping less of a chance of being affected too.

They do look like a pair of love birds, though.
