I am looking for a Canon 430 EX II (pre-owned) flash for my wife. Can't justify spending $300.00 on a new flash for the little time she will use it. Have looked at KEH.com, local Craigs' list and been in a couple of on line bidding wars. That got out of control. Would much rather buy here from a UHG member if possible. If anyone has one I am ready to buy at a fair price

Thanks,

John: aka Plymouth34

I bought the same model on Adorama about 3 months ago for $240. Don't know what they are charging now though.

Hi Wendy,
Thank you for getting back to me. $299.00 is the asking price these days for new. Like you, I bought mine awhile back when they were less money. They are a great little flash. The search goes on. Have a great day.

Good morning,
Do you know much about B & H's customer satisfaction/reputation? I have never dealt with them before. Thanks you for your suggestion. I will check them out.

I have purchased several items from them. When an item I bought for $400 went on sale for $300 within 30 days of my order, the credited me the $100 even before I called them about it. If I can't get it from Pardee's (local store), I always start at B&H. And some of the nicest people I've ever talked to; they have NEVER tried to upsell me or try a bait-and-switch. I highly recommend them.

$85.00 for a 580 wow...I suggest that you go out and buy a lottery ticket SAP!!! As far as the Yongyuo that is manual and not auto isn't? That wouldn't work for my wife. If you want to get rid of one of those three 580's I'd be glad to take one off your hand. lol

Take care and thanks for your input.

Thank you Mogul,
As great as on line buying is, you can never be too safe. I will definitely go to their site. On another note...I like your Avatar. My wife and I went on a old steam engine tour/ride just last weekend here on the Oregon coast. we had a great time.

John, Below is link to take you to Canon refurbished. It has a one year warranty. I have that flash and love it it has not let me down. I bought mine a couple of years ago for 219 USD. I price shopped on line found the lowest price at a bait and switch and then one of the big box stores price matched.

If purchasing now and more in the know I might look at the Yongyuo. If it's a gift go with the Canon. You are welcome to PM me. "JR"

I grew up in Sacramento in the 1950's and 1960's. Spent a lot of time at Pardee's. Surprised they are still around. Are they still in Town and Country Village? There was also McCurrys at the time. Returned a package of Kodak photo paper because every other sheet had a spot on it about the size of a dime. The AH salesperson insinuated that I had stolen the package since I didn't have the receipt. He finally did exchange it but I never went back to McCurrys.

Pardee's is now located across from Country Club Mall (maybe mall should be in "" for what it's become) on El Camino; still a great store. John Pardee died; current owner (many years now) is Manfred Kallweit. McCurry closed years ago.

If your wife has seldom use for a flash, why not go to Wally World and pick up one for $75? You can probably use is as a slave for multiple flash setups also. DJT

Thank you,
Great idea, I would not have thought of that. I just got locked into the idea of what I would by for myself. I really like the slave idea.
