I have a 7D and this feature shows disabled. I have no option to enable it and select options. I checked the manual and there was no help. Any ideas?

Step out of the Auto Modes and it will appear.
See pages 51, 59 and 77 of the updated users manual.

Some menu options won't appear if the mode you are in, i.e. auto, dosen't support it. Try M, TV, AP or P
Not looked but I thought it was only available when shooting jpgs
that's the answer. thx...They don't mention that in the manual...

works with jpg only
Turn off Highlight Tone Priority

I have a Magic Lantern Guide for the 7D and it states that you have to be in Live View or Movie shooting mode. Also it is disabled if C.Fn II-3 is enabled. Hope this helps. TNmike
On most, if not all, cameras the Auto Mode disables some options since they are considered to be for the "more serious" shooting! If you then use the Program Mode (if avail) you would actually be starting with the same settings as Auto if you don't tweak the settings, and would have access to almost all options available for the particular camera.
My memory isn't as bad as I thought it was :D

Leave it off.
Good advice but I will add why you should leave it off, if it is turned on it can add noise to your pictures. Cheers
