2nd I have an A65, and tried to use the software supplied by Sony. FORGET THAT SHIT! Get yourself a copy of Adobe Lightroom, and you will be amazed.
3rd As Nikonian and other have said, the RAW files are as yet unprocessed and that is up to you to do. Many times, you may be happy enough with the jpeg file and thats that.
However if you want more... Then you can extract a lot more from the Raw file as it contains greater detail ... Its all in the processing my friend.
I am no expert, but am beginning to learn a few things I can do to improve my files as to how I want them to look. Lightroom is fairly intuative, and there are plenty of sites with tips and advice on specifics you may require.
