Welcome to the Weekend Challenge - "The Colors of Nature." The older I get, the more I appreciate the simple things in life. I never cease to be amazed at the beauty that surrounds us. In Georgia, USA, our spring and summer has been unusually rainy. While the rainy weather has been tiresome, it has made for some gorgeous thick green grass that we struggle to keep trim.

Your challenge this weekend is to share with us the colors of nature that surround you. It could be sunrises/sunsets, flowers, insects, skies, animals, etc. Let's share and appreciate the bright colors of nature before they fade away into winter. I am looking forward to your interpretation of this challenge.

Sitting on the front porch today, watching for the Hummingbirds, and enjoying the freshly mown grass that my husband worked so hard on; and the gorgeous blue sky.


We don't see the actual sun set in our area as we are among so many trees. However, the post sunset sky can be quite amazing.

I was showing houses today and so excited to actually see dragonflies, bumble bees and a butterfly! These photos are nothing like what you super zoom Canon SX50 folks produce, but I was thrilled to get to try.








Talk about the colors of nature, last week I must have worked 30 minutes trying the capture the gold color of the rising moon. This is close and it almost slid out of sight before I was satisfied.

Just a few I got within this last week.

So many colours here that I had to put on my sunglasses.

OK,,I did a vertical 12 shot thing in #1 and a 10 in #2. What I found was that by stitching vertical shots versus horizontal ones, we eliminate that ballooning effect where the middle photo would seem closer.

These were taken last evning about 45 minutes apart.
