Spent two days up on Cape Cod, couldn't find a thing to shoot. Nothing up there but water, boats, sunsets. a seagull or two.

Yikes! I hope you are kidding about not finding anything to shoot. My wife and I are going there in three weeks. It will be our first time to that part of the east coast. Into Boston, up to Portland, Maine and down to Cape Cod. Our whole trip is photography centered.

Went down to the beach on the Bay, for the Sunset and saw this rain bow flash in the clouds. Like a wedge, have never seen that before

I like boats, water, sunsets and seagulls. So I guess we will do just fine. Thanks for posting.

Don't forget, I wasn't there to take pictures. There is a lot going in all the small towns along the east coast, you have a great time. I think When I was in Arcade I took over 400 photos. You'll have a good time.

West coast meets east coast...we are looking forward to our trip. So much to do and see and so little time to do it.

I've lived in New England for my entire life (70 years) and can guarantee you will find stunning photo opportunities throughout the region. If you're going to Maine, the coastal towns have the most to offer - Ogunquit, Portland, Cabbage Island, etc. The same can be said for New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Rhode Island. If you like fresh seafood, you'll also have a wonderful dining experience while you're here. Get ready for some fun.

PS. If you're going to Cape Cod, reserve a day to take the ferry to Nantucket Island. It's quaint, picturesque and full of photo opportunities. Cobblestone streets, beautiful harbor, etc.

Hello,
Four days in Boston. We are going to do a Photo Walk/Tour on the waterfront one day. That and the Freedom Walk another day. Five days in Portland, Maine. I have lived in the Portland, Oregon area all my life (65 years). My wife is a California transplant. We rented a cottage a stones throw from the Portland Lighthouse. They say you can hear the fog horn at night from where we are staying. Not sure if that is a good thing or not. Do you suggest any must see places in this area? Then off to Cape Cod for five days. It is a bit of a whirlwind vacation. We will do as much as we can with the time we have. 70 years, maybe we will pick you up and take you along as our personal tour guides. lol

We have time to go to Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket Island. One or the other. Which would you chose and why? I would guess there are photo opportunities at both places.

John, Nantucket, is more condensed and historical, cobble stone streets, rose lined walk ways, the building codes are strict as to exterior finish on the homes and building in setting with an old whaling type village. Martha's Vineyard to me is spread out and you will need transportation. It's more of a vacation home town. Not Historical. To put it in a nut shell. I've been to the Vineyard twice, and to Nantucket well over 10. That's just my two cents. Nantucket is the Island to visit with a camera.

We go there every year, my family of origin lives there and we're all photography nuts. Beautiful place, you'll love it. Take route one along the coast in Maine. I used to lecture at the Old Stae house years ago and a great place to eat is Durgin Park, second floor, Faneuil Hall.
