This must be Disney World in Florida, correct? I went to Florida last July 2011, I think I recall seeing something similar to this area too. I was taking photos of the "Ghiaradelli" [sp?] building that was along the waterside.
I actually like both of them, but find the 2nd one [black/white] with just the balloon in color more intriguing, while the 1st one definitely pops with color! Very nice work on both.

I prefer the full color version. I wonder how it would look cropped as a vertical to include the tall palm/long reflection in the water on the right and about 1/3 of the darkened foliage on the left?

The first one is the best. Black and white doesn't do justice to sunsets or sunrises unless you have a situation where there is a very broken cloud pattern.

Well, I guess the first one is the winner -- hands down! So there you have it "RD Lauria" -- guess that will answer your "critique" question. Great job on both photos though.
