It's rare to get a good picture through the window of a jet, but I got a little lucky on recent flights in and out of Portland, Oregon. The first photo is of Mt. Hood, looking south. That's Jefferson in the distance, and you can barely make out the Three Sisters in the far distance.
A week later, flying out and looking north, I got the threesome of Yale Lake, St. Helens and Rainier all lined up. About 5 minutes after that shot, Adams came into view. Nothing special, but angles I don't often get to shoot mountains from.
(Evidently, you have to download the pic of Hood to see it. Not sure why it isn't showing up like the other two.....)

Nice shots. Really like the first one. A view you normally don't see.
Very unusual and very nice, Timarron!

Really wonderful shots and so rare to get to see that view!
Love them! Don't you love the sights you catch from a plane..
These are gorgeous!
I've flown into and out of Seattle several times, but it was always either dark or cloudy. The one time I had a "view" they had seated me next to the wing/wheel apparatus (on the little plane that goes to Yakima) so only caught glimpses of these magnificent mountains.

I'm originally from Oregon, but also worked in Seattle, so every time I fly into either Portland or Seattle, I try to get a window seat away from the wings just in case its a clear day and the windows aren't all scratchy.
I learned that the hard way. On one trip out of Portland, the pilot made a special point of flying closer to Mt. Hood, and then actually tipped the wings and slowing down a little so the people on the left side of the plane could get a great unobstructed view of the mountain. I was sitting in an aisle seat on the right side of the plane. Never made that mistake again!!
Some years back I flew from LA to Vancouver and it was fantastic. Seemed to be flying quite low, and great views of Mt. St. Helens, Yosemite and the Rockies way in the west. The pilot pointed out places of interest which was great as I'm from Australia. Just loved it. The plane wasn't full so we could pop from one side to the other to catch the sights. Jude.

I think the reason it doesn't show up is because there in no file extention. ie----.jpg I downloaded it and had to rename it to view. Great pics.
