Photo storage...
I have a question about JPEG/RAW. Since I've started shooting this dual combination, RAW has absorbed so much space in my computer that I have run out of disk space. How do you people upload your photos? Is it to your computer or to an online site? I'm just trying to figure out how to stop using so much disk space. So, let's start here and proceed from it if need be. Thank you all for any replies.
I use external 2 hard drives ( redundant back up) 1 TB Each
For the stuff I sell I also put on DVD for fast easy access.
Do back ups on a regular basis or directly put them on DVD it is a great way to make sure that your protected. make 2 copys of the DVD also.

And keep the two copies in different places (safety deposit box, your relatives house, etc...)
Thank you Bruce. Once you put the photos on your external hard drive, do you then delete them from your computer?
Shoot raw, edit in LR, export out as JPG...back up JPG to external drive, smugmug and computer. Save the important RAW files, back those up to external drive, delete the rest.

How large is your computer's drive? I have a second internal 1TB drive that's just for data, with the OS and programs on the C drive.

222 GB. Thank you.
These days, 1 or 2TB is standard. I remember when I got a computer with a 1GB hard drive. Wow! So much storage.
You could get a 2TB drive and install that as a second drive. Then copy your data to that drive. This is a desktop computer, right?
Yes it is Jerry and thank you.

It would be very easy to install another drive.
Thanks again Jerry. My wife and I will be heading to the computer store for more hard drive.
I would still back up on DVD just in case.....just my 2 cents
Most likely I will but we are going to try and get more GB's also.

While you're at it, get some TBs, too. :D
