The terns proabably won't excite any enthusiasm among judges because it gives the feeling you are refusing to show them what they'd like to see.

The Anhinga would be good for prarie town judges... Has grace, water and an interesting insight on bird life.

The dragonfly may just be suffering from down sizing, but lacks the spark that would cheer up a judge.

Ok, here's a third (and final) set to consider. I've been saving what I consider the strongest til last, but did put one image (the gull looking over its back) I really like in the last batch. Now here are three others I really like. But which one do I leave out of the competition since I can enter only three total!??

The first two here were taken on Sanibel Island, Florida; the last one on our prairie restoration here in Illinois.

# 1 of this set is the best in my opinion. I like the diagonal line and the pattern of the birds.

#2 is the most pleasing at first glance. It could use a bit of 1/3 balancing. #3 could be cropped a bit, the boat is a bit small.

Among those three, Anhinga.

I like the anhinga the best. The wake it made is eye catching to me!

Boats #1, Gulls Eye, and Anhinga would be my choice of the choices offered for the little we know about where and what the judges might be. But that produces a narrow seacoast theme and your judges might hate Florida or have had a relative eaten by sharks or something (though that might be go 50/50 for or against you...).

It could pay to have an alternate, of a contrasting venue: Something like a moon lit desert rattlesnake on a road near a neon lit honkytonk... An old Burma Shave sign, VERY close up.

Anything different. Never pays to put all the eggs in a basket...

I'm with T all the way. (You should know, though, that nobody has ever asked me to judge a photography show.) ;)
