I took this Saturday night because I had the rare luxury to be staying at the Ritz-Carlton in LA. I don't get to the city much and If I do I am normally at Motel 6 or comparable, but I wanted to take the opportunity of getting a city night shot. So this is through my hotel window 23 floors up.

20 second exposure, ISO 100, f/4.5

Which one do you like best. I added vibrance in Photoshop to the first one which made it a lot darker.

I like the 1st photo as the lighting seems to be a little subdued. The whites in the second blare out at me.

THanks

I'd be happy with either one, but if I have to pick I take #1 nice job.

Thanks all I kind of am leaning towards the vibrance shot too. It looks more like the darkness of night to me. I guess the long exposure lightened everything up.

I think of LA as vibrant and #1 for me pulls that off--I don't think its a "subtle" city. Dark sky, bright lights, tall buildings, lots of concrete--LA.

I like one for the bright colour and two for the detail on the buildings.

Liked them both. I would have cropped the bottom one to exclude the 6 lights on the right.

I like them both but call me old school... I like the second shot best because that's what your eye actually saw as captured by the camera. Vibrance is fine I guess but that's not what was there. I do very little PP because of this like... I want to see what it actually looked like.

Nice shot, nice PP on the vibrance shot. Especially through glass... very good.
