Started out of necessity to shelter his horses against the harsh winters of Western Wyoming and Jackson Hole, Thomas Alma Moulton didn’t know he was building a future landmark to a nation and mecca for photographers. Today this national icon, that some have called the most photographed barn in America, catches the eye of photographers who seek to savor a bit of the “Old West” that typifies Jackson Hole and Grand Teton National Park. This summer is the 100th anniversary of the Thomas Alma Moulton barn on Mormon Row.

Tea8, I'm here for the same reasons - to receive critical review of my work and, in the process, to learn how I can improve it.

Good to know, but there's not any negative comment I can make about those! I think those two shots are better than any that I've ever managed to take, so you're doing an amazing job to me.

The first pic was an old 35mm Kodachrome slide scanned and digitized. Unfortunately it had faded over the years it was stored in the garage.

Started out of necessity to shelter his horses aga... (show quote)

I worked in a photo shop the owner had taken a 2&1/4 bw neg of that barn. i can't remember how many times I printed that neg. I ahve been to the site many times but I have never taken a photo of the barn. A very nice photo well restored

Thank you, Dane. I know I've seen the photo to which you refer (or one very much like it). A fellow by the name of Abi (once the mayor of Jackson Hole), made a fortune with photos of ONLY that barn. He still has a studio in Jackson Hole at which the only photos displayed are of the "Barn". I can't believe you have never taken a photo of the barn; next time you're in Jackson, you must!

Love that second photo. It should be framed and hanging on a wall. Great job!
