Hi all,
I certainly rely of this forum for advice on equipment an(and everything else photographic as well!).
The Epson WorkForce WF-7520 Wireless All-in-One looks like exactly what I need, price, functions, all fit for me. Does anyone have any comments on this printer?

Just checked Amazon for ink. $35 for the 4 colors. Where do you get such a high price??

Of course you have to figure how much printing you will be doing, but it's tough to equate that much money with grocery shopping, clothing, or even a camera lens. And buying the ink will continue for as long as you have the printer.

Let's face it, all printer ink is costly. I use "Fast" and "Grayscale" for printing that isn't important.

EDIT: I've been looking online, and you can get the four cartridges for well under $100. There is a four-pack of color for about $50, and a double black high-capacity for $50.

Thanks Jerry, I print a lot of docs and am aware of the ink prices, expected with any printer. I usually print fast draft. Best of course for photos which are not very many, only the really "great" ones!
I just couldn't understand the figure the other responder mentioned, seemed high except for maybe printers in the $1,000 range and up which use 7 or 8 refills
Thanks for your thoughts.

I love printing on discs. Much better than scribbling with markers.

JR is in England, so he might have found higher prices there. There are printers that will cost you over $300 for a new ink supply, so it's worth checking. Of course, you seldom buy all the ink at once, and it's often on sale. I shop at Staples for ink, and when I turn in the empties, I get $2 credit for each one. Every quarter, they send me a credit coupon. That's when I buy ink.

I've had this printer for a couple of months now and love it. It was the easiest printer to get working on wireless network ever had. According to a couple of printer comparasion sites, it has a relative low per page cost of printing and I believe it. I like that has 4 cartridges (vs my Lexmark which has only two). I would have had to replace at least one Lexmark cartridge by now but have not needed to replace any. The scanning/copying is very fast compared to any of my previous printers. You can put a stack of documents to scan on top whereas my Lexmark required raising the lid and placing one document at a time on the scanner. And I can print from my Iphone and Ipad! I love this printer! The only thing I do not have working yet is remote printing from outside the house. I only installed it quickly and have not tried to fix this problem, only tried to print from work once from my IPhone but it said I did not have something setup (airprint? something like that). To setup computers, you just goto Epson.com/connect.

If ink were that expensive, just buy another printer. It was only $109 and came with "full" cartridges.

I've had the Workforce 7520 for about a year and it does everything I can think of as far as printing, scanning, copying and fax. As far as ink goes, I've printed a lot of photos and documents and I still haven't had to replace any ink cartridges. Be sure to give Epson your email address because they have sales on ink and paper on a regular basis.

I got fed up with the lousy service on my HP printer, and bought an Epson Workforce 545 ... an inexpensive one ... and I think the quality of the print is really good, and the cartridges aren't any higher than HP. But what I don't like is the paper tray, how it handles the paper: when I print an 8x10 photo, it's on letter size paper and I have to trim it in the papercutter. The Epson seems to always skew the paper just slightly, doesn't feed it straight in. I've looked at the paper guides and they don't line up completely straight, and I can't adjust them. Anyone else have paper handling problems on Epson?

If you print a lot of docs, why not get a laser for B/W only ? I got a Samsung ML 1630 from Frys for $50.00 and use it for B/W , cartridge refurb was $39.00 says it'll print 2000...not wireless, sorry.

If you only print the occasional photo, it's probably fine. The Epson R2000 lists at $600, though can be found at good sources for about $500. It can handle large photos, sheets or rolls of paper, can add a gloss to the print. Uses 7 ink colors plus the gloss optimizer, and produces excellent photographic results.
