I have been quite busy filling my kit with items that did not come with my gifts or I did not already have from my film SLR days as well as with my bridge camera.
My extra cards & card case came today as well as my OP/TEC two camera harness which will allow me to use my Rebel 400d w/18-55 lens & my 350d w/100-300 lens without any fuss.
I think I am looking at getting a matching Ball head for my mono pod ( the same as I recently bought for my tripod) that way I will have not only ball heads on both camera supports but matching plates on my 2 canon DSLRs
After looking at the recent posts on use of a mono pod I think I'll be using the one I have had ( a quality adjustable walking staff) for years but never used as a mono pod.
I will be buying a couple more FD to OES converters so I will have one for each of my old Canon prime FD lens. 24, 28, 50, & 500 mirrored.
Down the road I would like to get a Canon 100 mm macro. But because of $$ that will have to wait.
I do hope you fellow UHH will put up with my venturing into many different forums and types of photography as I am so darn glad to have these new DSLRs - well new to me - and being able to venture into things I only read about.
Harvey
good luck and have fun--sounds like you are all set for whatever comes along
Harvey,
You have been so gracious in giving of information. I really appreciate you. It is fun to venture out. Love to see the photo with your new 100mm shots soon. :)
congratulations Harvey. I hope all the gear in your kit works as long as you need it to. It sounds like you're all set to have fun. Enjoy
Well done Harvey. Get out and shoot em and judging by your avatar you won't have any problem hauling all your gear around. ;)
Surprised you are even considering a Canon 100mm macro ! There are so many other good options for a LOT less money ! A GOOD monopod is priceless ! ( Mine was $300 with head). And, yes it is better to have the same head/quick release on both tripod and monopod .
