Tonemapped
Not sure what tonemapped is, but I like the results.

i'm not a huge fan of tonemapping in general, and i really don't like the halos it often produces, but it does bring out some of the detail in the shadows...
Does tonemapping work with RAW images? And what program are you using? Thanks
@ Papajon.......that was a RAW shot and i used Photomatrix Pro.
if you'd like, i'll post the shot processed with ReDynamix - doesn't have the halos or the unnatural, uneven light that Photomatix produces. personally, i prefer the more natural look, but some folks groove on the "video game" look that tonemapping often produces...

That's the info I was looking for, thank you very much gfp517.
I too have no idea what tone mapping is but I totally love the result!
Please post one done with the other program. I'm thinking about trying Photomatix . Was this difficult to do? Do you have to shoot in RAW?
Thanks for posting!

with apologies to gfp517, here's the shot processed in ReDynaMix... not everyone likes the result, but as i mentioned, i prefer a more natural looking photo, and i find that tonemapping often doesn't give me that result. in this case, as you can see, there are no halos, and no unnaturally bright spots like Photomatix creates (see the lower front of the building, or the bright patches of grass that would not look like that given the angle of the light...) ReDynaMix works with a single image, so you don't need bracketed exposures, and works with JPEG files, which makes it useful for folks who can't or don't want to shoot RAW. it doesn't do well with ALL photos, but i've found it gives me the result i'm after about 90% of the time. and for a $16 Photoshop plugin, that's pretty impressive...
