Just a few from over the weekend. The butterfly, the Damselfly & the Milkweed bug were in my backyard. Goldie has been eating well as evidenced by the variety that has been in her web in the last few days. The mosaic is part of a wall at the Arts Center. The bronze horses are The Mustangs of Las Colinas at Williams Square. The sunrise & the early morning moon shots are from yesterday morning. Sure was a pretty day.

Very nice shots, GeezerGal! You're doing great with your SX-50!
I'm sure fond of mine. Let's see more.

Thanks for looking & for commenting, Tom. I like the bugs, too. Damselflies & Dragonflies are usually the hardest to get .. they never sit still for long. The grasshoppers I prefer to see in the Orb Weaver's web .. they are eating my flowerbeds at a rapid rate this year.

Thanks for your comment, Wahawk. I greatly value your opinion. I like getting the moon shots in the early morning because it seems that the detail stands out better.
Man, I'm jealous. I can't get the sx50 to focus quick enough to get many good shots. The cameras nice, I just haven't got the hang of it yet with living things that move.. Great job. :)

Thanks, Papa Joe. I appreciate you looking & your very nice comments. I'm glad to hear that you are also shooting the SX50. Now .. let's see some of your shots :-D You can find more of mine since I got this camera in May .. just search for GeezerGal .. a lot of my past posts will come up.

Same for finding mine, GeezerGal... just search Papa Joe. I've posted several, but have slowed-down a bit recently. I'll have to get busy again. Keep on shootin'!

Thanks for looking & your nice comments, bedgmon. The SX50 is slower to focus for sure. I find that if I pick an approximate distance that I expect something to be at (a bush if I'm looking for bugs, a tree if I am looking for birds, etc) and pre-focus for that distance on something in that bush or tree, it helps so long as I keep the camera active by re-focusing every so often. Then when the critter flies into view, I'm already ahead. Keep a couple of backup batteries in your pocket & don't be afraid to tweak every menu setting you have until you figure out what makes the camera work best for what you want to do. Practice a lot .. Linda from Maine has shot wayyyyyyyyy more with hers than I have in the same length of time & she has the super photos to prove that practice makes perfect!

Thank, Jim. I appreciate & value your critique.
Get the dragonflies early in the AM when it's cooler out
I enjoyed the damselfly and the statues of horses the most.
