Remember the multi-page discussion about the Canon Pro-1 rebate a week or so ago? Have any of you bought the printer and applied for the rebate? I did both, and I just got an email saying my rebate is being processed, and I'll have it in just 6-8 weeks. Wow! They really move fast when giving away money. We'll be out of summer and into fall by the time it arrives. :D

I hope it comes soon for you Jerry. I have never had much luck with those, but when I filled out one for Verizon, they came through and were quick about it as well. If I remember correctly, there was a fairly good rebate with the printer. Thought about it myself. Please let us know how that works out for you.

I use Quicken to keep track of my income and expenditures. In 2001, I began keeping track of rebates. I've gotten a little over $9,200 so far.

Any idea what your gross spend was to get the $9,200? Interesting thing to track. wish I had thought of it.

Yeah, I know. That's scary. On the plus side, I was buying the stuff anyway, so I still came out ahead. If I had included coupons, the total would have been much higher, although I'm not that much into clipping and using coupons.

Good point. The $300 Amex card will arrive in time for Christmas shopping.

Keep that email! You may need the contact information. I did.

I recall the discussion was about the Pro-100.

The Pro-1 is a lot more expensive, uses pigment ink, has 12 cartridges and the cartridges are big. The Pro-10 uses 12 smaller pigment cartridges. The Pro-100 uses dye ink and has 8 cartridges. All three are getting good reviews.

In any case, I bought a Pro-100 when the rebate was only $200. It took about 8 weeks and the Amex card I got was good for only $100 and my name on it was spelled wrong. I had to make a couple phone calls. The error was corrected and they sent another $100 Amex card.

I tried to spend some of it at Adobe for an upgrade to LR5. It didn't work. I still upgraded, but with my regular credit card and took the Amex cards to Best Buy where they worked fine -- even with the misspelling of my name.

In hind sight, I think I should have used the Amex cards at B&H to stock up on paper and ink for the Pro-100. I like it a lot and appear to be using it enough to need the paper and ink!

I purchased mine through B&H and sent in the rebate info after calling B&H because the clerk had sent the wrong Rebate form. They included a $200.00 rebate when it was supposed to be $300.00. Got the new form, sent it in, and received the word from Canon that it would take 6-8 weeks. Two weeks later the card for the full $300.00 came in the mail. Patience is a virtue,

When people are handing out money, you have to be patient because they are in no rush. I don't like getting the rebate in the form of a card, especially Amex. Rebate cards are not readily accepted in many places - based on past experience.

I should have said Pro-100, not Pro-1.

Just curious - can you use this debit card when purchasing on line via Adorama or B &H?

I doubt it, but I shouldn't use it for extras. If I do, it will be like paying full price for the printer. I want to use that $300 for something I'd buy anyway - like gas and food.

Very nice, although I have not printed any 13 X 19 yet. I'll save that paper for something special. It certainly is large!
