This is awesome. A DSLR lost at the bottom of the sea, found 1 year later, and photos recovered from the SD card led to the owner.

yes i saw that report too on aol. a cannon dslr. the photo of the camera showed rust all over any metal parts, says alot about cannon says even more about whoever made the memory card. Future print advertisement on its way

Pretty amazing story. After a year you might expect the camera to be covered with silt, never to be seen again and then to have the card be readable is so cool.

I have a thumb-drive that's been through the wash (& dry) three times. Does that count?

I have a Canon that sat out in the rain over night this summer. I was sick when I found it the next morning. All my pictures and a new point & shoot possibly gone. I opened everything I could on the camera to dry out & after a couple of days it was good to go. I was so happy. Canon takes a licking and keeps on a clicking.

Cool story - I wonder if they used a USB cable, or put the card in a reader.. :)


This is one situation where the latter process was optimal, I suppose.
