My wife and I headed for the mountain with cameras in hand. The weather could not have been better. Even the summer skiers and boarders were up there today.

I must ask what mountain did you climb and did you summit?
Thanks!

Hi Brent,
This is Mt. Hood here in Oregon. Elevation is 11,250'. We didn't summit today but we have in the past. We went as far as 10,000 feet today. A pretty good hike for a Sunday afternoon. If you are a climber it is relatively safe if you you climb safely and prepare. We just lost a experienced climber here on the mountain a month or so ago.

Plymouth34: Great set. Hard to imagine skiing this time of the year. Nice way to cool off I figure.

Thanks for posting

Hi Steve,
The parking lot at the lodge was packed with boarders and skiers. Even the over flow lot was full. On occasion our Olympic ski team practices here because of the late snow melt. It was in the mid 80's in the valley today. On the mountain it was around 70 degrees.

I enjoyed your last shot of the mountain, reminds me of our visit to Mt Rainier with our son when he was in the Navy.

Mt. Rainier is another beautiful mountain. It is in the same cascaded range as Mt. Hood. Approximately 217 miles away.
I'm glad the picture brought back some memories.

You are correct, it is a nice place to hang out. We live a short thirty minute drive to the mountain. I have spent a lot of time there the past fifty plus years. Come on out and enjoy the fun.

Hi Goldusty,
Thank you for taking the time to view our day trip.
Believe me, by the time we reached 10,000' the chair life was looking real tempting. I am closing in on sixty five years young. It was much easier of a mountain to climb when I was in my 20's and 30's.
