He doesn't talk much usually... but he's been opening up to me.
I was coming back from doing some architectural photography of the local church... and he was sitting there... big, gruff, burly man... in a dainty white wicker seat surrounded by flowers.
The dichotomy was too much for me to resist!
I pretended to click and then smiled and told him I would never shoot without asking permission first.
He was actually disappointed that I hadn't actually taken his photo... so I made it up to him.
He was thrilled.

Great candid photo. I would love to get him into a studio! Get some more of this character!

You should have no trouble getting the gents to pose any time!!

Wonderful photo and I am glad you did it in black and white! Gives it more character!
You made his day, and ours.
Now that's a smile! Good work getting that!

Gracious! I had no idea this one even was seen by anyone.
Thanks everyone!
(and yep, that's a smile alright! And he hasn't cracked even so much as THAT since! lol)

Well, truth-be-told... POSING isn't the issue at all ;)
LOL
But getting them to feel comfy smiling or letting me capture their eyes/expression... tends to be!
Men tend to flirt when they have a female photog... rather detracts from the whole point of taking the shot.
I prefer candids or street photography for that very reason.
Thank you for the sweet compliment :)

:) thanks
Lemme see if I have the color version handy, still... no I don't but will oblige your kind request tomorrow when I can bring LR back up.
I WILL say that the color version enhances the "dichotomy" bit though... pink and white against his tattoos and graying hair etc. lol
