This question I pose to our friends on the left....or any Obama Care supporter.
The unions were very heavily in favor of Obama Care. They worked to promote it, gave money to promote it and their management were talking it up every opportunity they had.
All of the Democrats staffers in congress obviously worked just as hard.
Every trick in the book was used to ram the bill down the throats of the American people.
Why were the unions, Democratic Congress people, Democratic Senators and Democratic staffers all working so hard to pass the bill? We were told it was because the bill was so wonderful. That it would save people in this country thousands a year and provide coverage for almost all Americans.
So here's my question........doesn't it bother you that all of the people who were so adamant you live under this law are all trying to get exempted from it? Do you still support Obama Care? If so, why?

Obama care originated in the Heritage Foundation a conservative think tank. I would have preferred a single payer plan, but that was not possible so this is what we got. The cost of healthcare was 17.9% of GNP in2010 and raising, soon to be $1in every $5. Healthcare is the prime reason for bankruptcy and we all pay for this though higher fees paid to hospital, doctors or clinics. So we need a healthcare plan to control this or are we to let people just die if they cannot pay?
Yes this is not the best pan but has anyone come up with a better plan that would pass congress?

The ACA isn't anywhere near being the same plan as what was suggested at the Heritage Foundation. Ditto for the Mass plan, it also is different than the ACA although most liberal say it's the same...How can it possibly be the same as it's a State plan, not a Federally administered plan.Yes, it's universally agreed that our Healthcare system needed improvement, just not this boondoggle of a plan. Yes, it has it's good points, but the bad points need to be revised...

I don't care if it was written by Rush Limbaugh in his own blood. The law gives the government over citizens health care.....that's not constitutional Chief Justice Roberts convoluted arguments notwithstanding. Not only does it reduce liberty, it increases cost. I don't care if Congress has passed anything better. This plan doesn't improve the situation, it makes it worse. That's what makes congress as a group so dangerous. Any problem they focus on, they feel they MUST pass a bill...even if it makes the problem worse.
As far as you having "preferred a single payer plan" I really don't care. A single payer plan forces everyone to go to the government for healthcare. What gives the government the right to involve itself in my medical issues? It's not in the enumerated powers. Please don't give me the old General Welfare clause.....that kind of logic using the General Welfare clause would allow the federal government to control what people eat, where they live, what they do for work and anything else they want. The federal government does not have that power!
Finally, you decry the cost of modern healthcare. You want to reduce costs? There are two groups that have caused the cost of healthcare to skyrocket. Lawyers and the federal government. If you enact REAL tort reform, allow insurance to be sold across state lines and reduce the regulatory burden of government, costs would drop drastically over a couple of years.
Of course, fixing this problem will be difficult. Congress and lawyers have spent 50 years and billions screwing things up...so it's gonna take a lot to fix it!

As far as Death Panels, you may be right. It looks like just one person (Kathleen Sebelius) will be controlling life and death through healthcare decisions.

We all need to start an "All or None" campaign. All the people in the US have to participate in the ACA aka Obamacare program or None of the people in the US have to participate. If this program is good for even one of us it should be good for all of us. If Obama, congress, the unions, IRS and big corporations have to participate then I bet it will be repealed ASAP.

At the time it was sold to us, it was going to cost 700 billion, now prior to its implementation estimates are 3 times that, add to that the 700 billion Obama stole from Mediscare to fund Obama care.
