Looking through an old gadget bag....
I found a bunch of filters that most likely date back to the 1970's. One in particular is a color halo. Does anyone remember what this is supposed to do? I put it on a 50mm lens and it didn't seem to add much but a blur.
Try pointing it at a source of light, light bulb etc. See if you get that halo. As I remember, they were useful in night scenes with light sources that would be "haloed". Spiratone sold a whole raft of different modifying filters. Colorflow, starburst were a few. Wasn't it nice when 52mm was the size for almost all lenses?
Gadget bag, Spiratone.... Those words really tke me back.
I still have my halo and starburst in my old 'gadget bag' if only I could find it. It did have a use back in the '70s, if however goofy (sorry) they may and others have been. Ah.... Senior moment.... They were really neat.

You're correct the only 52mm filter size lens I have now is a 50mm. The other lens us a 58mm, 62mm, 72mm and 77mm respectively.
