Not sure if this should be in people or hdr, I settled on people because these photos are just tonemapped rather than real hdr.
Anyway, I thought you might like some of the results.
These are all just candid photos by available light without any fancy stuff.
All taken with my old D70 which bit the dust on that vacation. Now moved on to a D7000 so we'll see what that can do - I have visions of taking better candids by using an off camera flash fired by a transmitter but hoping not to spook the subjects by sticking too much gear in their faces?
the sitar man
young and pretty
old and gritty
game warden

Nice captures...I like the processing. My fav is "Old & Gritty". ;-)

Very nice series.
My favorite is #3.

I am enjoying your series. All are well taken. It is always a curious thing to me that the countries with so much bleakness or poverty are always so colorful in dress and ornament. Just an observation. I am thinking also that if busy hands was done in black and white, would it be more about her and less about color? The little girl's eyes are just beautiful.

Whatever you're doing, just keep doing it. The eyes in #2 and #3 grabbed my attention and wouldn't let go. You captured the innocence of youth and the wisdom of age. Really well done.
thanks again, I am off on another trip soon and hope to get more and better pics
