Just to advise that although I had written and collated a number of what I believed were potentially informative pieces for this photography forum, due to the vitriolic, hateful and personally demeaning responses I have received as a result of the initial three, I consider it in the best interests of this forum to withhold those further contributions. Winter, that's to bad, since I realize some of the topics were indeed serious and informative posts. Though I will admit, I sometimes didn't realize that they were serious. And though I may have made some off the wall comments, I certainly would not have meant them in any wy to be hateful or demeaning.
It's pretty obvious and well known that there are plenty of self centered and destructive participants here on the Hog.
And since photography has no way to measure either knowledge or experience, anybody can appoint themselves as authority, not to mention tempering it with post killing people skills.
Anyway Winter, In spite of the fact that some here actually have knowledge to impart and help others, there are an equal number of killjoys here waiting to spoil any party were something constructive could have taken place.
I hope you keep trying to help. Otherwise, we may need to bring back that ever important C vs N discussion. SS

Winterrose, old chap , don't let 'em get ya' down ! Stand fast ! I'm with ya', just as is sharpshooter. You can't expect to win over all the people all the time. Be content with those that are on your side.

Thank you SS, and to set the record straight I certainly did not include you in my consideration of those who have so disrupted my genuine attempts to provide a little food for thought.
You are a genuine and valued contributor and I enjoy and can relate to your sense of humour.
The problem is that I don't crawl around in the gutter so I find it impossible to get far enough down to the level of these creatures to understand what drives them.
Before the hecklers claim some sort of victory I am not hurt or wounded by their distractive pestering, it is satisfying to me to help others which I do by visiting the elderly in a nursing home and showing them how to use email and internet and to see the looks on their faces when they learn how to do something new is priceless reward. Rob, you can call me Geoff, mate ! Craggy is fine, but nothing more than a nickname I was once given many moons ago.
Had to look up your reference and found this - http://browndogadventuresplus.blogspot.co.uk/2010/12/lawn-mower-vs-cane-toad-today.html - you may not be into the sound of leather on willow, but your boys still have 3 chances to redeem themselves - and save themselves from the fate of the cane toad !!

I do apologize, Geoff! I have got two computers going and am writing to three other friends at once...I actually don't drink grog so I can't even use that as an excuse...Which thread are you looking for? Have I been trashed?

Bob - I thought your thread was in the Main Photography Discussion, my first port of call for this site - but I see it's now in "chit chat". Maybe been moved by our friendly facilitator, one of the 71.6% ? Did you get a "message from Miami" advising you of such ? He did this to me a few days ago. I felt my thread was worthy of a place in "Main Discussion" and wanted as large a number of people to see it as possible. The "friendly facilitator" wanted to do his job (make things easier for folks !!) and stuck me in "Links and Resources". But he knows best, and will tell you so with a good dose of his best sarcasm to boot!

This one - look to the top - you're in "General Chit Chat (non photography forum). Is that where you wanted to be ? I don't usually look in this section, and certainly not as first port of call.
