Hello has anyone ever used silverfast software for digital cameras. Silverfast is used mainly on midrange flatbed scanners

Silverfast came bundled with my Epson V700 scanner. I installed the software, but after one or two "tries" in the beginning, I'm afraid Silverfast must be feeling very lonely on my computer by now. I find that Epson Scan gives me the images of the quality I need and without the learning curve.

I don't know what you mean by "used Silverfast software for digital cameras." The only way to get an image into the Silverfast software is to scan it, from what I can find in the Silverfast handbook.

Hello if you go to their web site you will see they have software for digital cameras. I have a epson 4870 scanner, is the v700 worth the upgrade. I do not use film camera anymore

Had a quick look and found it. From reading the article I get the impression that I can already do everything that program does, with Photoshop Elements.
Added to that, my camera is not listed with the supported cameras for raw images. Is yours?
As to the scanner, for me it was worth it. I am in the process of scanning ALL my photos, slides and negatives. Many scanners will only do four slides or six negatives at a time, the V700 does 12 slides or 24 negatives at a time. Granted, the time per slide or negative is probably the same, but while it is working on 24 negatives I can at least walk away and do something else. As well, the V700 has a dual-lens system: One lens for transparencies, one lens for reflective items (the scanner selects the right lens after you tell it whether you're scanning transparencies or reflective).

Thank you EstherP, as usual you do that reading stuff that us men do not do... indeed, reading to obtain technical details is key to technical excellence.
