I stumbled on an article about Marco Gob with a link to his website. I was impressed to say the least. There are lots of great photographers out there. I thought it would be fun to learn about some of them. So, "Who do you admire?" If you can include a link to their work.
I posted this link in links, but I will do it again here.
Marco Gob, I like his philosophy of getting out of your comfort zone and just do it. I love the lighting of his portraits and how he captures the personality of his subjects.

I am unsure of how to post a link, but the photographer that I admire most you guys already know. He is our own Swamp Gator. I hope all of you follow his blog! You will see some amazing photography there!

#1 would be David Kennerly, Gerald Ford's photographer.
I heard him speak at an NPPA convention in the '70's and then again a couple of years ago. My background started in photojournalism, and I respect his work.
http://www.kennerly.com/I've been watching Joey L for a while and his work is pretty damn inspiring.
Creative young whippersnapper!

http://www.joeyl.com/Wow! Joey L. is really good! I wish I could afford some of his DVD's.
I started this thread because I am really uneducated about the great photographers out there and wanted to become more familiar with the greats. Thank you for introducing me to Kennerly.

14 year old Zev Hoover is not my favorite photog but you have to admit, this prodigy has one "HUGE" imagination and translates it into his work. You have to watch the video and listen to how his mind works. Click here,

He is impressive. And you are right what an imagination!

Wow! Am I the only one OLD enough to remember Ansel Adams?
I'm old enough not only to remember Ansel Adams, but to know he did not always fully wash his prints! Some of his classics, like "Moonrise, Hernandez" are developing hypo related issues. Some, not all.
The digital darkroom can be a good thing (and definitely not so stinky and "stainy") with archival inks, but, to use the digital domain, storing images on MDisc and burying them some place will outlive likely every printed image in the world, no matter the technique. (Except maybe, that carbon suspension giclee process on very good paper.)
