Hi
I have a Canon 60D and a 16GB card (Sandisc class 10). I am overseas on holiday and want to download the images I have painstakingly shot but have tried several different card- readers and although I can see the images on the camera LCD they won't download. I get an Error message "Read Only File". I have checked that they were not inadvertently "protected"in the menu and went to another part of the menu and clicked on "unprotect all files" and no success.
Am quite concerned.
Has anyone had this experience and if so what did you do?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Hope it is remediable?
Thanks in advance.
Kind regards.

Read the other thread you started and maybe delete this one?
Have tried shooting on a few pictures using a different SD card to see if it has the same problem? If not, then the problem might be the card itself. I have not seen this with my 60D (or other Canon's for that matter).
You might be taking RAW instead of JPG. Unless you have the right software on your computer you might not see the files. I know this happened to a few my friends. Even myself when I got my first camera and was shooting RAW. Couldn't even see the files. Just a shoot in the dark.
Do you have more than one folder on the memory card?
Do you have the cable that plugs into the USB port?
The problem I had was card related, hope this is not the case.
I suspect that your SD card is locked. Check the small slider on the side of the card.
Hi
Thanks for the post. Tried other card and no problem. Also, is bizarre as only applies to another x3 days consecutive shoots..others downloaded fine. Took test shot and that downloads.?!?!
The slider is not locked.

Have tried several card readers, USB to Amera, PC (windows) and IPad?!?
Hi. Thanks for the post.
I can see the images on the LCD. I always shoot Raw plus a small Jpeg?

Have you tried using a card reader?
I suggest putting away the card until you get home from holiday and can have it looked at professionally or by another skilled person. You might also try hooking directly to the computer with a USB cable and wee if that works, It seems the camera can read the files at least. I suspect however that the camera is reading use the jgeg. (You said you were shooting RAW + jgeg).
