Canon T3 vs: T3i

Sorry I don't know the proper model numbers. But what is the difference between the two, other than one's a 12 meg, and the 'i' model is 18 mp. Is that basically the big difference?

Reason I ask, is a guy's got a T3 for sale, good deal, and I don't want to get it, and then kick myself for not waiting till I find a deal on an 'i' model.

Thanks for any insight

Canon makes a trimmed down entry level camera. Previously it was the Rebel XS and currently it is the Rebel T3. There is considerable difference. The T3i has a flip-screen, much higher resolution LCD screen, and much better video options.

If the price is right, the Rebel T3 could be a good buy.

OK...I'm a nerd and a geek and called "IT GUY" by many. However, I've not as of yet seen this google feature, and I really had to laugh. Out Loud, even.
Sheer Awesomeness

Thanks for Googlin' that for me. I guess there's a YouTube video for pretty much anything nowdays.

I liked what the guy said about the i model, trying to put too much information on the sensor. Makes sense to me, if the sensor is the same size.

Thanks again

Really, it makes me want to barf as there is not much difference among most cameras. All we want is some REAL improvements not 3D especially and so many other "improvements." Now I feel like laughing - the more things change the more they stay the same. I think improvements in batteries and things that count would be nice. Also the simpler it is to work a camera the better it is for all unless you are a masochist of some sort or another. But the public is THAT way and won't change - sadly. I'm a pessimist today! Sorry.

I could not let this mis-information go. Canon has put considerable research and development into the 18 MP APS-C sensor. Cameras such as the 7D, 60D, T2i, T3i, T4i, T5i, and the SL1 are built around an 18 MP sensor.

The T3i will definitely give you better image quality because of the better 18 MP sensor and other features such as improved AF and low light performance.
