I think that usually Portrait Photos are done for a fee and are private between the photographer and client so will not likely be shown on a public forum such as UHH. TNmike

Shooting humans requires release form.
If you are going to shoot models, street photography etc, you are generally going to sell it. No reason to post for free what you shoot for money.

Could it be because there are more interesting species to photograph? After people pass about six years old, they do not make an interesting subject most of the time.

Funny cause I think once you've seen a photo of common back yard flowers, I don't need to see 100 other some what medicore photos of flowers. Same goes for hummingbirds, sun sets, dragon flies, bees on flowers, etc. Now a jaw dropping dragon fly will get my attention, out of focus bee - not so much.

Now give me slightly OOF portrait any day.

UHH doesn't really seem to be a place that many portrait photographers gather. I'm not sure why, they seem to end up on other forums.

Johnny this site is NOT set up for pros, it's set up for anyone how has a love of photography, no matter what equipment they are using.

I'm unsure how you got that idea from this one post?

In my case, it's because non-humans can't complain about having a camera stuck in their face - again. We like to take pictures more than our friends and relatives like to have their pictures taken. Landscapes, bugs, and flowers are not confrontational, except perhaps for some bugs.
