Spent today fishing on a small loch in Perthshire. A pair of Ospreys have nested there every year for about 20 years. I was surprised to see 4 birds perched in a tree about 20 feet away from the nest. The adults usually use this tree to stand guard over the chicks in the nest as the crows and gulls constantly harass them. #3 shows two birds perched in this tree but it looks like they have built a snack table out of sticks as fish can clearly be seen on it. Maybe the nest is just too messy by this time of year.

Hello angler
Thank you for that. Fishing was great. I like to fish dry fly but as you are probably aware when the sun is too bright the fish go down. Today was perfect. Good cloud cover and the fish eagerly taking dry flies. Loch has Blue and Rainbow trout and a good stock of beautiful little natural browns. All returned unharmed.

Thank you Linda, much appreciated. They are lovely animals. I always want to cut their fringes so that they can see.
